Overview

Alabama Crown is currently looking for a State Transportation Manager to effectively manage delivery operations and personnel in the state of Alabama. 

Responsibilities

Full-time position.

  • The purpose and objective of this position is to effectively manage delivery operations and personnel in the state of Alabama to insure departmental and company goals of making timely, accurate deliveries in a professional, efficient, and safe manner.
  • Manager will be responsible for all operational aspects of Statewide Delivery Departments through hands on execution and the delegation of duties to Supervisory Staff.
  • Manager will at times have to make deliveries, and ride with assigned employees to evaluate delivery driver’s job performance. These deliveries and ride with evaluations will have to be done in all types of weather conditions, unless deemed unsafe by company management.
  • Maintain staffing goals/reporting Statewide. This includes viable support at all locations.
  • Interview, select, train, motivate, team build and issue corrective action when needed.
  • Build on Market Reputation through professional execution in the field.
  • Scheduling of manpower
  • Maintain/ Implement Companywide policy adherence and reporting compliance Statewide.
  • Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of fleet via GPS.
  • Confirm time and attendance for delivery.
  • Confirm all drivers report each day and that all routes are assigned and delivered.
  • Monitor and track GPS
  • Schedule repairs and routine maintenance of fleet, maintain records.
  • Keep DOT records up to date.
  • ELD and DOT compliance with CDL/A drivers.
  • Submit payment of departmental expenses.
  • Writing Annual Budgets.
  • Monitoring routing efficiency at each location.
  • Build a culture of professionalism, safety, and pride.
  • This is a senior management position that may require long hours (no designated start or finish time).

Qualifications

  • Prior Management experience required.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be able to multi task in times of adversity
  • Class A CDL a plus
  • Mature judgment regarding handling of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must be able to communicate with people/employees effectively.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of basic computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management & organizational skills.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to prioritize & work in a rapidly changing, fast growth environment.
  • Must be able to pass background checks (i.e. Police backgrounds, reference checks)
  • Motor vehicle records will be pulled to establish employment eligibility: no DUI, reckless driving, or hit & run in the past five years & no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
  • Drug Free Workplace.
  • Must have the ability to work in a warehouse environment and various weather conditions.
  • There will be long hours and must be able to work until the shift is complete, there is no definite quitting time.
  • High School Diploma/GED required college degree preferred.
